Results for 2001
Finished 19th out of 32 after starting in the 17th position. Bumped wall coming out of turn two on 1st qualifing lap but recoverd and still went a 20.34 to get 17th. Moved up to 9th place by passing cars dodging wrecks and have other cars fall out due to mechanical problems. On lap 46 the top two cars got together in turn three and other cars swrecked and Roger could not miss the cars as they came to rest on the track. Front of car messed up pretty good. Will be repaired.

Quote from Roger: " The car was running great all we wanted to do was get to the pit stop on lap 65 and make some changes and then I think we would have been up with the leaders at the end. I just could not miss that car. We are learning so much, but it makes it hard to have to rebuild it when we were so close to getting it right. We all wanted to do good here at our home track and I think we would have had a great finish if I could have gotten by that one car."

August 3, 2001   Birmingham International Raceway 35 Lap Super Late Model Race
Finished third out of ten after starting in sixth position. Worked way up to third after ten laps and was right behind John Boy Wilkenson and Jimmy Hartley. Got to go to scales again. Brakes much better this time but handling still a little off.

Quote from Roger: " We feel we have a car that can win here and we are starting to get to run up with the leaders on a weekly basis. We have a little more handling problems to fix and then I think we will be there."
July 27, 2001   Birmingham International Raceway 35 Lap Super Late Model Race
Finished third out of ten after starting on the outside poll position. Tires and brakes went away after tring to take second for most of the race. Got to go to scales for first time since moving up to super late model division.

Quote from Roger: " We were so excited to get to go to the scales for the first time. It has been one of our goals this year. We finished with no scratches and we can work on making th car better now."
October 5, 2001    Five Flags Speedway  150 Lap Snowball Derby Qualifier
Finished 21st out of 32 after starting in the 18th position. Got an early lap down and fell in with the leaders on a restart aroung lap 31. Followed leader Eddie Mercer for about 20 laps and passed him on outside of turn four to get lap back. Stayed on lead lap till Wayne Williard passed Eddie Mercer and caught Roger and put back a lap down. It was only a half a lap later that a caution came out. You can't race back to the caution at Five Flags so we were still a lap down. Ended up falling out with bad battery and bad spark plugs.

Quote from Roger: " I am glad we came down and ran this race. We had a great time and it should help us when we come down next month for the Snowball Derby. I need to work on my qualifing though. It will be hard to get in the race."
November 29 - December 2, 2001   Five Flags Speedway 300 Lap Snowball Derby Race
63 cars tried to qualify for 38 total spots. Roger went a 17.39 and the Pole was 16.40 for the first round. Needed a 16.80 to make it on the first round. Second round went a 17.53 and did not make the cut. Started last in the 17 car last chance race and finished ninth, but they only transferred two so will have to wait till next year.

Quote from Roger: " I feel like we had the car to get in the race but we just needed some more time on the track. I look back on it now I realize with the problems we had and the rain we tried to qualify for the Snowball Derby on 30 laps of practice. I am excited about coming back next year and getting all the practice and getting into the race."
